Mask Restrictions Lifted

All Flatirons Subaru Employees,

Effective immediately for all Flatirons Employees:

  • Wearing a facial covering, on Flatiron’s property, is optional. It is recommended to wear a facial covering if you have NOT been fully vaccinated.

  • Any positions that are CUSTOMER FACING, Flatirons Subaru requests that you honor the customers wearing a mask, by putting one on yourself. These positions include:

  1. Service Advisor

  2. Salesperson

  3. Receptionist/Greeter

  4. Valet

We continue to ask that everyone practice good hygiene habits and continue to sanitize their workstations. In addition, please continue to keep hand sanitizer available at your stations for customers and employees.

On a personal note, The Crouch Family would like to say THANK YOU! Your resilience, teamwork and professionalism, throughout this pandemic, has been exemplary. We’re proud to be associated with such a great team!

Mask Update

Effective Sunday, May 16th, Boulder County updated its mask order to align with the States executive order allowing fully vaccinated people to go without masks in public indoor places.

However, Flatirons has made the decision to keep our mask requirement in place for all employees until we get a better understanding of how our customers are reacting to the new mask order.

We will keep you updated on this decision and more than likely will eliminate the requirement within the next two weeks. Thank you for your patience!

Workplace Mask Policy - 2020

The health and safety of employees is our highest priority. All employees are now required to wear a mask or cloth face-covering that covers his or her mouth and nose at all times* while in the workplace.

This includes while on the phone; if you have a problem using the phone with a cloth mask, we suggest using a temporary mask while on the phone as they are easier to talk through.  See Michael Boudrieau if you need a temporary mask or a replacement mask.

*Please note the following exceptions:

      • Employees whose health or safety is put at risk by wearing a mask or cloth face-covering are not required to do so with their doctor’s authorization on file with Human Resources. If this applies to you, please contact Tara Garcia in HR.

      • Employees who wish to eat or drink may remove their mask to do so, provided they are situated six feet away from others, perform the necessary hand hygiene and replace the mask when they are done.

Please note: this policy is an addition to our previous communications regarding preventing the spread of COVID-19. All company advice on remote work and social distancing remain in place. Please continue to practice social distancing even when wearing a mask.  Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action taken.

COVID-19 Mitigation @ Flatirons Subaru

As we navigate this pandemic, we want to highlight our current process of dealing with a potential COVID-19 positive test.

IF YOU ARE FEELING SICK?

  • Do not come to work and inform your manager.

  • If it is COVID related symptoms, get a test done. Continue to stay home until you receive the test results.

IF YOU TEST POSITIVE?

  • Relay results along with documentation to your manager ASAP.

  • Quarantine for 14 days

    • Get another test done at the end of your 14day quarantine.

  • Managers will contact-trace the people you were directly close to before your positive test and inform them to get a COVID-19 test ASAP. (If tested, you must stay home until results)

Current Mitigation Practices at Flatirons Subaru

  • ALL EMPLOYEES are required to wear masks inside Flatirons Subaru at ALL TIMES, NO EXCEPTION.

  • We have dedicated several employees to cleaning high volume areas throughout the day.

  • If an employee tests positive, we have hired a company to disinfect the immediate area with a mobile UVC light setup and electrostatic fogging for most of the facility. We are then issued a certificate specifying we have used EPA approved disinfectants.

Due to HIPPAA laws, we are bounded not to disclose the identity of any positive cases. Still, we are doing our best to mitigate those that work closely with that positive tested employee.

IF you have any questions or concerns, please see your manager.

COVID-19 Status Update // May 15, 2020

We’re about to finish our first week operating under the safer-at-home protocol and business continues to get better each day. Opening the showroom has made life easier for the store in general and certainly for our sales team.  We have made the decision to maintain the current schedule: Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  The current plan is to resume normal business hours starting Monday June 1st. We will continue to bring back staff as needed under the restrictions as mandated by the state.

We’re getting there and fortunate that we represent such a great brand in Subaru!

Stay healthy!

Thank you,
Scott Crouch

COVID-19 Status Update // May 7, 2020

Good News!

Boulder county is not extending the stay-at-home protocol.  Beginning Saturday May 9th, under the safer-at-home requirements, we will be able to open our showrooms and bring back more staff. There are restrictions on the amount of staff we can bring back based on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.  We should have more information on our update tomorrow.

Although it’s hard to say what normal business will like look moving forward, this next step is a big one.

We’re moving in the right direction!

Thank you for your patience, efforts and commitment.

COVID-19 Status Update // May 1, 2020

We are optimistic that Boulder will not extend the Stay at Home protocol and make the transition to Safer at Home on May 8th. This will allow us to open our showrooms and bring back more of our staff. This will certainly make the sales process a little easier and lead to more sales! It will be important that we continue to maintain a safe and clean work environment and follow the social distancing rules. Employees will continue to wear masks when working at the dealership.

Despite all the restrictions to our sales department we finished April with 81 Subaru’s delivered! Parts and Service continue to get busier.

Kudos to everyone for all your efforts!

Thanks
Scott Crouch

ATTENTION SERVICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES

Both group 1 and group 2 will be back to work starting this coming Tuesday May 5.
The days and times for the Service Department will remain the same Tuesday thru Saturday 8am – 5pm.

COVID-19 Status Update // April 29, 2020

COVID-19 UPDATE: The “stay at home” guidelines are still in effect until May 8th. Fortunately, business seems to be picking up in both service and sales despite the restrictions we are currently working under.

Thank you to all Flatirons employees for your efforts and perseverance. – Scott Crouch

In other events, we are proud to be the title sponsor for the Second Wind Fund of Boulder County - Emerge 5K race on May 3rd THIS SUNDAY! We want to raise money and awareness for youth suicide prevention.

All money raised from Emerge 5K, SWFBC matches uninsured or underinsured children and teens who are at risk for suicide with local, licensed therapists, helping cover the cost of therapy.

In March, the Colorado Department of Human Services Office of Behavioral Health reported a nearly 50% increase in calls and texts to its crisis hotline compared to 2019. The hotline staff estimated 60% of calls in April regarded the coronavirus.

Here is how it works:
Walk, run, bike, stroll, climb the stairs, saunter around your house, move in a way that thrills you (for approximately 5K or 3.1 miles or 3500 steps). After your movement of choice, you will join our community on our virtual wall; and of course, there are prizes!!

COVID-19 Status Update // April 24, 2020

Boulder County officials today joined with several neighboring Front Range counties to announce that it was extending stay-at-home guidelines to remain in effect through May 8.

Flatirons Subaru will continue with the current schedule with no changes.

—Heath/Dental Renewal forms ALERT—
ALL EMPLOYEES ARE ARE REQUIRED to either sign up, decline, or change coverage. We need your signature by the end of the day on Tuesday the 28th. Please see Aleecia.

We will have more masks 😷available later next week if your current one is falling apart. As always, thank you for continuing to wear them and, in some instances, adding a little more protection. 😏

COVID-19 Status Update // April 22, 2020

Some positive news came from Governor Polis’s announcement on Monday. Curve-flattening seems to be working, and we are moving towards what we hope will be some normalcy. The Governor outlined the plan to move toward Phase 2, labeling this next phase “Safer at Home.” This is undoubtedly a move in the right direction but still will not allow us to fully open our showrooms as this was not made clear in the plan.

CADA is working with the Governor’s office to get some clarification and allow our showroom to be open under proper controls. So, with all this in mind, we will continue to operate under the same restrictions and parameters. Parts and service will continue to operate under the current program as well.

Regarding sales, please remember our showroom is closed, and we need to make it appear that way at all times (not an easy task as we are getting busier). Please make sure all showroom doors are closed and locked. We have heard from a tire repair vendor that dealerships have been checked by the Colorado Auto Division and fined in cases where the showroom doors were not locked.

On a positive note, we presented our “Share the Love” check via a Zoom gathering with the wonderful staff at our chosen charity, “There With Care.” With the awesome support of our sales, parts, and service staff, we were able to donate a check of $75,000!! Check out the video below; there are lots of tears.

Take care everyone and thank you for your commitment during these unusual days!

COVID-19 Status Update // April 18, 2020

We want to wish you all a happy Saturday and give you a few updates at Flatirons Subaru. For the service department, Mr. Boudrieau will be extending the week on / week off for two more weeks; that breakdown is as follows:

  • Group 2 works April 21st to April 25th

  • Group 1 works April 28th to May 2nd.

In the sales department, for the remainder of the month, every new and used vehicle sold, the customer will receive a $50 Grubhub gift card to show our appreciation and help support local restaurants. Shae and Kerrie will have these gift cards and a thank you card, so make sure you are giving those to your customers!

Thank you for continuing to wear your masks in and around the dealership, our customers appreciate it!

Although we miss seeing your smiling faces! 😊😊

COVID-19 Status Update // April 14, 2020

As many of you probably know, the current stay at home order is currently in place through April 26, but that date is subject to change. We will continue business as we have been until further notice. Employees will continue to wear masks when working at the dealership. We have recently purchased reusable masks that are available now for your protection. Any type of coverage is acceptable if you would prefer to use your own (ex. Bandanas).

Again any feedback is much appreciated. We will continue to keep you all updated on any changes or current news.

Thank you all for staying positive and working with us during these crazy times!
Scott Crouch

—ATTENTION—
Health and Dental renewals are coming up on May 1st.
The accounting department will be receiving packets later this week, please see Aleecia to signup/decline coverage.

COVID-19 Status Update // April 9, 2020

We don’t have any new updates today, Thursday, April 9th. The days seem to mix together, and we keep plugging along, thankful to be operational!  Service is staying somewhat busy, and sales is adapting to the new protocol and selling some cars!

Thank you for everyone’s support through these times!  For those employees that are at the store, thank you for your commitment to wearing your masks.  We know this is not easy, but it is the best practice to keep employees and our customers safe.

Scott Crouch

COVID-19 Status Update // April 3, 2020

As we settle into what might be called a “new normal” we’ll be will be sending these updates out only three days per week. If we have new important information, we will definitely update you the same day the information is received.

Today Jared Polis announced that all Colorado residents are strongly encouraged to wear face-masks when out of the home. Polis did not indicate whether this requirement will be enforced but it is strongly recommended. We feel that since we are open for business and interacting with the public, we should follow the States recommendation.

Effective starting Monday April 6th Flatirons will require that all employees wear masks when working at the dealership. We have recently purchased reusable masks that are available now for your protection. Any type of coverage is acceptable if you would prefer to us your own (ex. Bandanas). Maybe there is a face mask fashion contest in our future 😊 !

COVID-19 Status Update // April 2, 2020

Investigation enforcement actions are underway to COVID-19 dealer compliance.

We are now hearing from dealers about early enforcement attempts. In Denver County, plainclothes public health officers (not police officers) are visiting dealerships to see if they can gain entry into showrooms. So long as the showrooms are closed/locked, and they cannot walk in, there seems to be no trouble. In response to this, Flatirons Subaru has posted closed signs at all showroom entrances along with keeping all outside doors to the showroom locked.

DSC01058.jpg

In another update, our operations manager Bill Wantuck has located a local resource to re-supply our hand sanitizer stations. That local resource is J&L Distillery (Great Vodka!). Local distillery J&L Distilling Company has shifted its normal operations to focus on the production and distribution of SnoSan hand sanitizer. SnoSan is formulated according to the World Health Organization’s 80% alcohol recipe and comes packaged in 23.7oz (700ml) bottles, which are appropriate for personal/household use and large enough to be suitable for business and commercial use.

And as always, we thank you for all your help during these unprecedented times.

COVID-19 Status Update // March 31, 2020

We continue to remain operational in parts and service and, although our showroom is closed, we are handling sales via online and by phones.

We have come up with a process for our sales team that you can access through the following link:
http://flatironslife.com/online-sales-team // Password: Flatirons
If you have any questions regarding our sales process, please get in touch with any of the managers.

On a positive note, we are seeing somewhat consistent, although diminished, activity in our service drive as well as internet leads in sales. As an "essential" business, we are fortunate to be open at any level. We will continue to serve our loyal customers while taking the needed precautions to provide a clean and safe environment.

It seems that our operating parameters change daily and we are expecting potential changes in the governor's Executive Order this week and will keep you informed. Please be aware of the updated FAMILIES FIRST CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE ACT

We will continue to make our work environment here at the dealership as safe and healthy as possible and ask all employees to respect your co-workers and customer's social distance.

Again, thank you for all your support!

Thank you!

COVID-19 Status Update // Friday 27, 2020

New clarification on our sales department!

Although we are required to keep our showroom closed, we have been given clearance to sell new and used vehicles remotely via online/phones.  We are working on a process to accomplish this under the guidelines set forth by the Executive Order.  Salespeople will be notified of their schedule and the process to follow while working from home.

We will continue to make our work environment here at the dealership as safe and healthy as possible and ask all employees to respect your co-workers and customers social distance.

Again, thank for all your support. These are certainly weird times, but I think we will come out of this better and stronger!

Thank you!
Scott Crouch
